April Engineering Terms
Fuel Cell- A cell that produces an electric energy from a chemical reaction.
Incinerate- To destroy something by burning it.
Limitation- A restraint or condition that doesn't enable you to do something.
Offset- Not aligned or balanced correctly.
packet (as it relates to computers)- A chunk of data that is transmitted over a network.
Pneumatic- The pressure of air or gas that is contained. EX. paintball gun
Recycle- To reuse or reduce trash.
Specifications- To describe something precisely.
Tangent- A tangent is where a line touches the edge of a circle or curved surface at one point.
Work- Mental or physical activity that is used to achieve something.

Annotate- T add a description of a certain aspect of a drawing, program code, etc.

Actions- Actions are what the object does when the game is running.
Backgrounds- Backgrounds can move or be still, it can be a picture or placed sprites that can be modified in the rooms.
Events- They are like an if then statement, like if space key pressed move and within each event there are actions.
Executable file- It allows you to run something without the source.
GML- A built in programming language in game maker.
Instances- Are one particular thing of an object.
Objects- They are sprites with events and actions, they can be visible or not visible.
Resources- They are everything that helps you construct a game in game maker.
Rooms- Rooms are where you put in backgrounds and objects so they show up in the game.
Sprites- They can be made into objects and and have certain things you can set.
Variables- They are elements, factors, or features that are able to change or vary.

Design Process- A step by step process that is used to solve a problem.
Problem- A problem is a question or situation that needs to be solved.
Concept- It is an idea that can solve a problem or make something easier.
Brainstorming- Brainstorming is when you get in a group of people and output any ideas.
Generate- To produce something.
Research- to find facts about your topic.
Iterate- to repeat.
Solution- the answer to a problem.
Construct- To build something.
Test- A series of trials or questions that is used to see how well something performs or knows.
Prototype- A full scale working model of a design that can be tested on.
Evaluate- To test.

Accountability-The state of being liable to answer for one's conduct; liability to give account
Collaborate-to work with another person or group in order to achieve or do something
Expectation-Expectation is defined as believing that something is going to happen or believing that something should be a certain way.
Goal-a result or end that one desires and works for; aim or purpose.
Integrity- Doing the right thing even when no one is looking.
Objective- A goal to reach or achieve.
Procedure- A thing to do in a certain fashion.
Respect- Willingness to show consideration or appreciation.

Algorithm- An algorithm is used to solve a problem that is a list of formulas and instructions.
Boolean- Booleans are used in programming and in searches and the expressions can have a value of true or false.
Conditional Statement- It is statement that performs if true or false.
Debug- It is when you look for problems in an issue and fix or remove problems.
Event handler- It is an outcome of clicking the mouse or pressing a key.
Glitch- A glitch is a problem in a program caused by conflicting hardware or problems in the code.
